OUR ANNUAL FOOTBALL MATCH IN FIJI?

Some nutter has bought an island in Fiji and there are 5000 tickets up for sale, if you fancy a visit that is!

The idea is you go out there for one week of the year; it can be on the first one of the first year where you will literally have to help build the beach bars, communal amenities and shit. If you go out there on week 52, I am guessing that most of the essential shite will be done ... and a brief will come through to build a Starbucks … whatever project you are involved in, it 's supposed to have an ecological slant(Starbucks do fairtrade coffee now). At anyone time there will be a certain number of people allowed on the island.

You can only go out for a week at a time though but you can by a ticket for 3 consecutive years:

a ticket to go out there for one week year £120,
one week two consecutive years £240,
one week for 3 consecutive years £360.

I am seriously contemplating snapping up a ticket but I think that has more to do with the fact that Glastonbury isn’t on this year.

ChaveTastic Time Had by All!

Meera’s birthday was a blast, that’s the second time I’ve seen her shitfaced in as many weeks. The usual suspects turned out from the football team along with some of Meera’s “normal” mates (pictured above), a nice bunch despite appearances. Aileen bought Meera the Karma Sutra for lesbians and Meera politely fingered her way through it, ahem. I didn’t buy Meera anything and the reasons for that are two fold: (1) I have just gone halfies on a £110 bottle of whiskey (2) it was as sure as I’ve got an arsehole that Aileen wasn’t going to buy her anything. Fuck.

Iwona, Aileen’s Polish bird*, and I got thrashed at table football by Ails and Di , but then the little plastic pitch was at a 45 degree angle, the gradient slopping toward our goal. It was a forgone conclusion really. We then dispersed across London, the streets were safe once again.

*No reported cases of bird flu in Poland (I checked), so I deemed it safe to be on Iwona's team ;)

Welcome DD, Sparrow and Jab who all joined us this week! I look forward to your posts.

Finally, will the person that’s mucking around with the formatting (people’s name that used to be on the left have dropped to the bottom of page) of this blog-site please stop it.

Wannabe Picasso, you might be. Gifted with html you most certainly are not.

Tally Up & Tally Ho

DUNDEE BOOZERS

Tally Up
Click "Dundee Boozers" above count how many pubs you’ve actually frequented during your time in Dunders - I have been to a very lame 7 out of 17. I quite like the look of Stoozys but that must have been after my time! Beth, I am expecting you to ACE this …

Top marks if you can remember the history of the name changes e.g. What the hell is Slatery’s called these days? That was a sin when they change that! I bet nobody can remember what Popl Nero was called previously (I do, I worked there)!

Tally Ho
Now, if you can be bothered - pick a pub and tell us a tale!

NICKNAME

I think that Juice got her nickname because she didn't have one and we spent an afternoon looking thru the J section of the dictionary to see what we could come up with (i maybe wrong)

And CC got hers because of an madeup incident in Cyprus and CC being the initials of a famous brand of "cream".

Have you seen her?
Please post last sightings…
Marge if you’re out there, please get in contact.

Your football team miss you!

WHO NAMED YOU?

You know you’ve made it into the Dundee Burd’s hall of fame if a team ‘elder’ has given you a nickname but can you remember why and how you got it? I got mine back in the season of 1997/8 when I was sat in the living room of 2c Seafield Close on Wednesday, post football match and pre-carnage. Diane Cowie turned to me and said, “I name thee Lindsey B” because your name is Lindsey and your second name begins with a B. She was not wrong! There have been, dare I say it, a few more inspired baptisms since then. Did anyone ever tell Aileen that she was called Psycho? Did we call Juice Juice because it took us a whole two seasons to turn her into the pisshead we know and love today? And CC ? Was that a reflection on the owner’s ability to spell (she is Welsh)?

The first person to guess what nickname the picture on the right is referring to gets a can on Tenants lager in the post!

DUWFC-2-INFINITY

AFTERNOON LADIES!!!

I just want to say that i think this blog thing (right there with you CC not really getting the hang of it yet) is a really good idea.

If there is one good thing to come out of the last couple of weeks it is us lot becoming closer.

Kath has been keeping us together for the last few years and i hope that we can carry that on via this.

AND LADIES.... we will kick your ass at the England Vs The World game. (Speedy remember your roots mate, english tru and tru) And you scots don't even think of ringing up Clare Smith to give you a wee boost, or i'll have to find myself an english international to befriend (just don't tell my missus)
Hello!

Great idea this blog thing, although not exactly sure how to use it properly yet. (We didn't even get colour TV's in Wales till at least 1989!)

I look forward to hearing what all of you are up to using this forum (?) thingy! I will keep you updated with all the exciting news from the world of CC. Am currently very bored at work for anyone who cares to know. Just had a blueberry muffin thought so things are looking up!

Footie game sounds great. The question is what nationaility will Speedy decide to give herself? This will probably depend on which team looks most likely to win!!! (only kidding my eng/scot friend!!!)

Judith, what team do you play for? How are you getting on?

Bye for now,
CC xx

You'll Never Walk Alone

Guys - I finally had an idea, I knew it would happen. I have set up a blog site for the famous Dundee Birds. It’s called DUWFC-2-INFINITY.

I thought the site could provide us with the right medium to keep each other up-to-date with the news! I will also be using it to try and get us together once a year – Each time it will be a different city for one or two nights, just like the good old days. I will be pressing you to play a football match during that time! England versus has already been suggested by Beef – watch this space!

Please post your thoughts, gossip & recent photo.

I wouldn’t be surprised if there are famous Dundee Birds dotted across the globe this time next year (I saw a familiar glint in Speedy’s eye!) - so make sure you let us know what you are up to and what country you are in as it's always handy to have a floor to crash on when you are roaming around the planet!

Well, it's a bit lonely here. I suppose I will let everyone know that we are ready to rock and roll.

YNWA,
LinziBee
