I was young, I needed the money!
I met up with Di, Meera and Aileen last night for the final time before I jet off, sniff sniff.
It was a lovely low key evening and it threw up (for want of a better phrase) a couple of interesting topics of conversation namely, weirdest food concoctions imbibed sober or drunk. Di offered coleslaw on toast! And secondly weirdest (or for the sake of the blog, coolest) jobs ever undertaken. I think Speedy might be up there, not because waitressing is a particularly strange job but because if she had told me back then that she was becoming an astronaut I'd have been less suprised. Either way, I think Meera will win the oddest job category hands down!!
Over to you Meera, and the rest of you for that matter. What weird shit have you eaten and what level have you stooped to for money?
By the way ladies, there might of been a few drunken opinions thrown around the table last night - remember, that's all there were. Sorry Aileen!

Remember when Jackie worked for Scottish Gas (??) and kept getting lost in the dodgy areas of Dundee, and Aileen having to pick her up on numerous occasions
Celeste has had some seriosuly strange jobs, including being a sercurity guard for a whisky distillary!!!!!
Linzi- cheeking comment but will let you off as its always handy to know someone abroad incase I decide to go off travelling again. In terms of rubbish jobs, let me see. I think I might win. They range from working nightshift in a factory where I packed DVDs, sandpapering walls for a decorator, working at a fairground, fruitpicking and selling accidental death protection insurance for a bank over the phone. Not to mention the 10 years of waitressing (don't ask about the dodgy Greek restaurant). The memories make me very sad indeed.
Off to Belfast this weekend for Leah's wedding. Very excited. I even have heels and a skirt. I shall be a lady!!
Listen Di, the back of the packet said that the naan bread should be damp. Meera later informed me that in her 27 years she had never seen an asian hold a naan bread under the cold tap before. I wanted to say I ain't never seen a asian actually buy naan bread from sainsbury's!
As for jobs, at 14 - 16 I worked in my dad's greasy spoon cafe every saturday and all school holidays from 6am - 4pm... FOR A £5 A DAY.
I remember dad throwing a loaf of bread at me once for ruining about 10 bacon rolls - instead of just squeezing a bit of brown sauce on the roll, I spread it all in with a knife!!
...and i don't know why it make me laugh so much, but El (flat mate) worked in a Chip Shop! Arggh-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!
so did Kath, she left school to go and work in a chip shop!!!
